“The internet – is that thing still around?” – so goes the quote from Homer Simpson.  Those memorable words rang in my ears upon seeing the sign below on a particularly chilly commute home.  For those of us looking for public transport information delivered to us painfully slowly, unclearly and from something called a television – Greater Manchester Public Transport (GMPTE) are encouraging us to use something called Teletext.

  • Ha, I didn't even know that thing existed, I wondered what the coloured buttons on my remote were for, presume Fasttext is still going strong.

    What amazes me most about this advert, is that they also do have a page on their website dedicated to providing this information:

    http://www.gmpte.com/buses/service_changes.cfm

    One which those with one of those "mobile" devices you hear of could access there and then at the bus stop.
  • what, you mean, you dont carry one of those mini tv's with the cool aerial ontop? so un-cool....
